Today, I’m thankful for being busy. I have lots of responsibilities. I have people to see, appointments to keep, projects to complete, meetings to attend, events to plan, and more. Granted, if I want to sin, I can usually find the time. However, being busy is a real help. That is especially so since much of my busyness is directly helping others in their walk with the Lord. It fills my days, my actions, my thoughts, my behaviors. I’m thankful the Lord has blessed me with more to do than I can really handle. It pushes me to my knees in His presence.
My goal today is first to pray. When I’m busy, it not only pushes out a lot of bad behavior, it also often causes me to neglect prayer. I don’t want that. My goal is to pray. Secondly, my goal is to stay on task and on focus. I’ve got plenty to do. I need to do it.
Great God in Heaven, thank You for entrusting me with work in Your kingdom. Thank You for relationships and responsibilities. Grant me the humility to pursue these in a way that glorifies You and not me. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
