Today, I’m thankful for friends–old and new. Last night, my wife and I got to reconnect with some old friends. A young couple whose wedding I officiated a few years ago. I was even privileged to study with and baptize the husband. I love reconnecting with them. But I also recently read that the majority of people haven’t made a new friend in over 5 years. I’m thankful I’m one of the exceptions. I have all kinds of new friends. And friends, whether old or new help me grow, challenge me to rely on the Lord, remind me that God isn’t picking on me. I have support from Him.

My goal is to be a friend today. Whether it is reaching out to someone I’ve known for a long time or to serve someone I just met, I want to be the kind of friend I want to have.

Holy Friend, thank You for being my friend as well as my God. Thank You for giving me friends. Thank You for the strength to grow as a friend. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
