Today, even though I know this will probably sound odd in here, I’m thankful for the library. I love books. I get a lot of help from books. But I can’t afford all the books I want to read right now. I’m able to conduct research, get support, learn new stuff, and meet new people (metaphorically speaking) because of the library. I learned about two books yesterday that I “need” to read. I was able to pick up one yesterday and get the other one on loan from a nearby library that will be in my hands within the next two weeks. Very cool. Anything that helps me grow, helps me overcome and find victory. So, I’m thankful for my library.
My goal today is to spend some time reading. What good does the library do me if the books stay on the shelf or if the books I check out stay in my book bag? I want to shut off the television, close down Facebook, set aside some time, and read. It’s amazing what I learn when I read.
Great God in Heaven, the reading of books is endless, I know, but thank You for the ability and the opportunity to read. Thank You for the opportunity to learn from folks with many different experiences and backgrounds than me. Help me learn. But help me always judge everything I learn based on Your Word. I’m all Yours today; do with me as You will.
