Today, I’m thankful, of all things, naps. Yep. I’m already tired. But I know that later today, I’ll be able to take a brief break and get in a power nap. I did some reading last year that really taught the great benefit of the siesta. That removed all my hesitation and guilty feelings. I know some people have jobs that simply would not allow for such a rejuvenating experience in the middle of the day. I’m glad I don’t have to power through my mid-afternoon down time. That is always a struggle on multiple levels. I’m going to take my break and recharge with a power nap which always makes it easier to make easier to fight my sins. After all, when I’m hungry, angry, lonely, and tired is when I’m most likely to act out. I’m thankful for my nap.

My goal today is to take my afternoon nap. But not let it turn into afternoon procrastination and laziness. A power nap is one thing. Work avoidance and irresponsibility is something entirely different.

Holy God, thank You for being the God who provides His beloved sleep and provides for His beloved in His sleep. Thank You for Your grace, might, and power in my life. Thank You for allowing me to have time of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, and recharge. Allow me to use the renewed energy it gives to bring glory to You. I am all Yours today; use me as You will.

Please, in order to encourage your fellow travelers, share your gratitude, goals, and prayers for today in the comments section below.
