Today, I’m thankful for books. I finished another one that was helpful to me over the weekend. I’m reading another that is helping me prep for a sermon I want to preach in a few weeks. I have many others on the docket. I know the reading of books is endless, but I’m very thankful I have access to the wisdom and learning of so many whom I will never get to meet personally. Of course, I’m especially thankful for the best book, the Bible. What a blessing God has given me in it.
My goal today is to do some reading. As much as I love books, watching TV and scanning Facebook is still easier. I want to make sure I don’t waste all my time on entertainments and recreation but spend some good time learning and discovering as well.
Almighty God, thank You for giving me the ability to read. Thank You for providing a great deal of opportunity to read. Help me to filter the good from the bad in all that is out there. May my mind and heart be filled only with what goes along with Your truth. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
