Today, I’m thankful to be alive. Two nights ago, there were major storms in our area. They woke me up at about 3:30 in the morning and didn’t let me get to sleep until I had to get up for a morning appointment at 5:00. I was so frustrated. Every person I saw, I complained to them about the rotten night I had. Then I learned later that as that same storm system passed through Alabama and Georgia, it cause serious tornadoes and damage. The storm killed at least 23 people, last I heard. Suddenly, my sleepless morning didn’t seem so bad. I’m still alive as I’m typing this. I’m thankful.
My goal is to use the life God has extended in His service and in service of the people around me. What good is life if it is only spent on me?
Gracious God, thank You for my life. Thank You for my continued life. Please, hold the families of those who died yesterday in Your hands and draw them to Yourself for comfort and strength. Give me strength to use today for Your glory. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
