Today, I’m thankful for opportunities to serve. I get to be involved in a fundraiser today. I’ll be spending the entire day working to raise money for scholarships for Florida students to go to college. It will be tiring. But it will also be exhilarating. All my sins, compulsive behaviors, addictive behaviors start in selfishness. Getting outside myself always helps. I’m thankful to serve today.
My goal is to be present in my service today. I’ll be interacting with people. I want to be present and engaged with each person I interact with, not treating them as someone to get something out of for the fundraiser, but as people to serve.
Holy God, You are a servant. When I consider Your greatness and majesty, I am amazed at how much You have served me. With Your creation, Your sustaining my life, and with the sacrifice of Your Son, You have served me when I deserved nothing. Make me a servant. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
