Today, I’m thankful for the principle of One Day at a Time. When I have days that don’t go the way I plan or I don’t get things done or things get out of control or I even tremendously slip with sin or my addictions, I don’t have to quit. I don’t have to give up. I can keep going. Because the only thing I can do anything about is today. Today is all I’ve got. I don’t have to let yesterday ruin today. I don’t need to let tomorrow steal today. I can just get back in the saddle. I can just pick up my cross. I can just use whatever daily metaphor I want to in order to make today count. I’m glad for today.

My goal today is to make today count. I don’t want to waste it in regret for the past. I don’t want to waste it in worry for the future. I want to make it count.

Glorious God, make today count. Give me the strength to pick up my cross and carry it today. Give me the strength to serve others today. Give me the strength to glorify You today. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.

Please, in order to encourage your fellow travelers, share your gratitude, goals, and prayers for today in the comments section below.
