Today, I’m thankful for the brothers and sisters in my home congregation. I’m thankful for them for many reasons. However, today, what stands out is the connections they help me make. My job is reaching out to people and proclaiming the gospel. However, because I am fully supported by a congregation, I don’t have regular contact with people in the world. If I’m not careful, I can spend a bunch of time in my office working on lessons and classes and miss out on meeting people. But my brothers and sisters make connections all the time. Several of them connect me with others. I have several studies lined up right now because of the connections others have made. I’m thankful.
My goal today is to support my brothers and sisters by conducting the studies they have set up in as God-glorifying a way as possible. I want to proclaim the gospel truly, passionately, clearly. I want to rely on God during these presentations and not think I am the one saving anyone.
Glorious God, You are sovereign. Please, let Your mighty hand wrap around the studies you have granted me this week. Clarify my eyes to see truth. Open my mouth to speak it. Open my heart to love those with whom I meet. Open their eyes, hearts, and minds to Your glorious gospel. Thank You for the brothers and sisters who care enough about their friends to make these meetings possible. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
