This week, it seems as though every job I’ve planned has taken longer. That means it’s the weekend and I’m behind on all my responsibilities for the week. That makes me incredibly thankful that I only have to live my life one day at a time. I don’t have to spend today governed by the guilt of yesterday. Neither do I have to live today fretting over tomorrow. I have today. I can plan today. I can do my best today. Nothing else needs to get in the way of today.
My goal is to plan today. What needs to be done? What can be done today? I’ll plan it out. Work through it. Stay on track. God can deal with tomorrow. I’ll simply put my hand in His today and work my way through what’s right in front of me.
Glorious God, forgive me for yesterday. Please, hold tomorrow in Your hand. Today, hold my hand and strengthen me to walk through the tasks in front of me. Strengthen me to put to death any temptation to act out in sin. I’m all Yours today; do with me as You will.
