I know it may sound odd in this forum, but honestly, today I’m so thankful for air conditioning. I’m thankful I can walk out of a house that is air conditioned, get into a car that has air conditioning, go into an office that is air conditioned, and reverse the process in the evening. After a few days with a broken air conditioner in my car, I’m so thankful it is fixed. After a day when my wife shut off the air conditioner, I’m so glad I can turn it back on.

Usually my goals are connected with my thanksgiving, but I don’t actually have any air conditioning goals. Really, my goal today is to live by all the principles I’m trying to train my kids to live by. I want to be just as disciplined and focused in my work as I want them to be in theirs.

Holy God, thank You for the comforts of modern life that I get to enjoy here in America. May I never take them for granted. May I always remember ultimately they come from You. May I be willing to share with others who have less. Strengthen me to follow all the advice I give to others, especially to my children.

In order to encourage your fellow travelers, please share your gratitude, goals, and prayers for this weekend in the comments section below.
