Today, I’m thankful for the weekend. Sometimes, it gets to be the time to rest and relax. Others, it is a time to get caught up. At other times, it gets to be great family time. And still other times, it gets to be the time to get to stuff you just don’t normally have time to do. I have my work done for the week. This gets to be a great weekend of whatever I want to fill it with. I’m looking forward to it.

My goal is to be present with whomever I come in contact this weekend. Rather than filling my weekend with me or spending it with people while I think about all I did this week or need to do next week, I want to be present in my relationships and moments. I want to hear the birds and smell the aromas and see the colors all around me. When in my addiction, all of that got missed. I want to be present this weekend, wherever the weekend leads. (Even if some of it is spent filing taxes, which might just happen)

Great God in Heaven, thank You for days of rest. Thank You for giving me sleep and working on my behalf even while I relax, rest, and rejuvenate. Help me be present with every person and in every moment. Do not let me be distracted by compulsive, obsessive, addictive, distracted thinking. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.

Please, to encourage your fellow travelers, share your gratitude, goals, and prayers for this weekend in the comments section below.
