Today, I’m thankful for my car. I’m about to leave for a 185 mile trip to visit my aunt who is in the hospital awaiting a heart transplant. Years ago, such a trip would be nearly impossible. But because of my car, I can leave this morning, visit this afternoon, and be home again by evening.
My goal today is to be present with my aunt. She is mostly alone in the hospital until they find a transplant for her. My cousin has been able to move nearby. But still, she spends most of her days by herself in the hospital. I need to be focused on serving her today, not on my own compulsions, addictions, or sins.
Almighty God, bless me with safe travels. Bless my aunt in whatever way will bring you the most glory. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
