Today, I’m thankful for a new day. I get to experience that three times this weekend. Not only that, but I will get to experience a new month. I love the newness. It is a reminder that yesterday’s mistakes, last week’s mess-ups, last months failures, don’t have to define today. It’s a new day. I can pick up my cross again today. I can surrender to Jesus again today. Yesterday doesn’t have to ruin today. I love having the feeling of a fresh start.
My goal this weekend is to take each day one at a time. I don’t have to define today with yesterday. Further, I don’t have to ruin today with fears about tomorrow. Today can be today. And I can use it to glorify God.
Almighty God, today is Your day. Thank You for giving it to me. Discipline me to use it for Your glory. Strengthen me to turn from sin today. Give me help in my temptations and strength in my battles. Plant my feet on stable ground that I may conquer, by your grace, the enemy today. I am all Yours this weekend; do with me as You will.
