This weekend, I’m thankful for challenges. I’ve thought I was doing really well at having increased peace. But this week, I faced a few challenges. They attacked my peace. I realized, I haven’t been doing as well at peace as I thought. I just hadn’t been facing any attacks on my peace. I was being lulled into thinking I was doing well at something that wasn’t really where it needed to be. I wouldn’t have realized that if God hadn’t thrown some challenges in my way. Now I can see where I still need to work, grow, and rely on God. Growth begins with obstacles and challenges.
My goal this weekend is to embrace the challenges, not run from them. My goal is to see what they say about me and where I still need to surrender to Jesus. Then start surrendering.
Almighty God, thank You for not making life completely easy. Honestly, it is more easy than I usually like to admit. However, thank You for the challenges and obstacles You drop in my path. These are what remind me of my need for You. These are what remind me of what You are still doing for me. I’m all Yours today; do with me as You will.
