I’m breathing today. I’m thankful. This is not just me trolling around trying to figure out something to be thankful for and saying, “Well, at least I’m breathing. I guess I’ll be thankful for that today.” This is me recognizing, as I often need to, that I don’t breathe because I’m just so good at it. I breathe because God is blessing me with another day of life. He didn’t have to. There were, no doubt, numerous people who stopped breathing last night. I am breathing today. I’m thankful.

My goal is to use my breath to serve God and say “No” to acting out. I’ve got plenty to do today and this week without getting caught up in sin and addictive behavior. Today is a major study day. I’m supposed to lead a chapel talk and then I plan on doing some good study for future lessons and sermons. My goal is to stay on task all day and not get distracted with useless conversations on Facebook or mindless internet surfing, tv watching, game playing. I also want to make sure to read the Bible with both of my kids who are still at home. We are supposed to read Luke 2 today.

Dear God, thank You for being my God. Thank You for giving me life, breath, and all things. Not only am I breathing today, I have food in the refrigerator, gas in the car, money in the bank, clothes in my closet. You have blessed me tremendously. Thank You. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
