Today, I’m thankful for running. That is shocking for me to say. For the most part, I’ve always hated running. And to be completely honest, I don’t want to act like it has become my favorite activity. Running has not become as easy as sitting down to watch TV no matter what “Runners World” told me. However, after a hiatus, I’m getting back in the habit. What has made this different is I’m not trying to lose weight. I’m just trying to be active. I’m just trying to be aerobically fit. I don’t want to start breathing heavy just because I had to walk across the room or up some stairs. That seems to have made a difference. Anyway, running does recharge me. It gets the blood pumping. It clears my mind. It wakes me up. I’m thankful.
My goal today is to take a run. Not only that, but also to use the energy it gives me to serve the Lord more faithfully and serve my family.
Glorious God, thank You for the body You’ve given me. Thank You for the ability to live, move, and have my very being. I’m able to walk. I’m able to run. I’m able to think. I’m able to talk. I’m able to learn. All of this comes from You. Thank You. I’m all Yours today; do with me as You will.
