Today, I’m thankful for my children’s health. Over the weekend, I visited the hospital for a surgery of the child of some friends. Their little 4-year-old daughter had a hole in her heart. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a scary surgery to face. The doctor had explained it was much more common than you might think. He had done over 600 of the procedures without incident. And yet, still I was scared for them. It all makes me thankful that my children have had such great health all the way up until now. I know full well that could change tomorrow. But I’m thankful for the good health today.
My goal is to be thankful today for today’s blessings. Too often I withhold thanks because I don’t know if the blessing is going to last. My goal is to count every day’s blessings and be thankful. I’ll face tomorrow then. Today, I want to just be thankful and praise God.
Almighty God, You have blessed me so abundantly. My family has had incredibly good health throughout the years. Thank You for today’s health. Of course, I would like good health for my whole family today as well, but most of all, I want whatever will glorify You. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
