Today, I’m thankful for birthdays. My wife’s birthday was yesterday. One of my sons’ birthday will be in a couple of weeks. I love birthdays because they are a marker of God’s goodness and grace. Every one of us should have been wiped out long before this year’s birthday. But, here they are. By God’s grace and patience, they have lived another year.
My goal today is to use this day God has graciously given me for His glory. After all, what good is His patience and grace toward me if I take it for granted and do nothing eternal with it?
Great God, thank You for my wife’s birthday. Thank You for another year with her. Thank You for another day of life. Strengthen me to use today for Your glory. Give me opportunity to do something eternally valuable today. I am all Yours today; do with me as You will.
