Today, I’m thankful because for the first Valentine’s day in a long time, I actually wanted to get home and spend time with my wife. And it wasn’t about sex. It was genuinely about her. We’ve had a great month. Perhaps the best since our early days of marriage. We’re getting closer and closer. Yesterday, I was super excited just because I knew we were going to spend some time together. Even when it became apparent that we were not going to go on an alone date, but were going to have a family game and movie night, I was excited. That feels really good. I’m thankful because I know God is working in me and in my marriage.
My goal today is to be just as excited about my relationship, about the closeness and the connection. My goal is to be present in all my relationships and not focus on them for what I can get out of them.
Glorious Father, thank You for my wife. Thank You for good days with her. You have given me a good gift and bestowed favor upon me. I cannot repay You. I can only thank You. Make me the kind of husband Jesus is to His church. I’m all Yours today; do with me as You will.
