So this is coming a little late for anyone who might be following along as the posts are made, but I did want to include for anyone who might find these posts later one. Each weekend of the reading plan has been set aside to catch-up (if needed) and reflect on the daily readings/writings from the days before. The forum posts for these days will also focus on reflection on the passages we have considered through the week. This might take the form of a challenge for making application, additional journal prompts, related Scriptures to consider, ideas for directed prayer, etc. And if there are ideas that you have along these lines for the week’s readings, please feel free to share them in the weekend threads!
For this first week, I would like to suggest a single, simple challenge:
Take some time to consider your relationship to God’s word. How would you describe your typical engagement with and attitude toward it? Does it match up? (For example, do you say that you love God’s word but don’t spend much time in it? Or maybe you believe it to be a source of comfort and hope but most often come away from Bible study feeling discouraged?) If there is a mismatch, what steps might you be able to take right now to address that? In particular, consider how God’s word interacts with your anxiety, as well as how you might be able to better use it in your daily walk (even if you are already doing well!).
