I hear folks talking about being depressed and wonder if they realize depression is part of the human condition. We have highs and lows … that’s life. It is when our moods become fixed or prolonged that I have concerns. Such is the case with dysthymia ( a type of depression very often seen in Christians). This is a generalized sadness and negativity about almost everything. There is no real excitement about life. Sometimes medicines help temporarily, but lasting help will come with two things: 1) increased aerobic exercise; and 2) mind shifting to view the world/life through grateful eyes.
