From Cain deep into the New Testament, depression is shown to be a human dilemma. We can benefit from studying how Job, Elijah, David, Jeremiah, Jesus and many more Bible heroes coped with depression. Some depression was brought on by sin, misinformation, hopelessness, and anticipatory anxiety. I’m convinced depression serves a purpose. So, in our dark moments we may do well to look for lessons to be learned.
